Career website Glassdoor today has released its annual breakdown of the top 50 CEOs, as voted on by employees. This year, Google CEO Larry Page was voted as the chief executive officer of the year with a 97 percent employee approval rating. Last year, Page was 10th on the list, with LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner taking the top spot. Weiner this year fell to 12th overall with an approval rating of 93 percent.
Other notable placements on the top 50 CEOs list are Mark Zuckerburg at #4 with a 95 percent approval rating, Apple CEO Tim Cook at #10 with 94 percent approval, and Yelp’s Jeremy Stoppelman at #22 with 91 percent approval.
Page’s placement as the best and most liked CEO comes as no surprise when you consider that Google was recently voted the best company for which to work for the fourth year in a row.
Of the top 50 CEOs, tech executives accounted for 15 spots. Last year, however, 20 tech CEOs were on the list. Of the top 10, four spots are occupied by tech CEOs this year. The full list of tech CEOs (via VentureBeat) can be seen below:

Meanwhile, Google's Larry Page earned a 97 percent rating, just missing the top 10 for the second year in a row. Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO, climbed 13 points — the second-highest jump after Zuck — to reach a 93 percent approval, same as Apple's Tim Cook, who dropped four points.
Oracle's Larry Ellison remained unchanged at 82 percent, just above Michael Dell in 49th place with an 81 percent rating.
"The CEOs who are more successful in gaining employee approval are those who paint a clear vision of what the company is setting out to achieve and how it's going to get there," Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO, said in a statement. "To be recognized by your employees as a strong leader also comes as a result of having a solid company culture that helps employees foster the skills necessary to move business forward and meet the needs of customers."
Other techy CEOS on the list include Joe Tucci (EMC), Paul Jacobs (Qualcomm), Pierre Nanterme (Accenture), Mark Templeton (Citrix), Marc Benioff (Salesforce), Jen-Hsun Huang (Nvidia), Hans Vestberg (Ericsson), Paul Otellini (Intel), Tom Georgens (NetApp), Brad Smith (Intuit), and Scott McGregor (Broadcom).
Notably, Victoria's Secret's Sharen Turney is the only female exec to make the list, landing at No. 42 with an 82 percent approval rating. New to the CEO game, Yahoo's Marissa Mayer did not make the cut — despite her 87 percent approval rating — because too few employees reviewed her, according to CNET. Also, HP's Meg Whitman, who was 2012's lone woman at No. 24, was left off of this year's list.
